LONDON OR BUST

There is a great line in Bob Fosse movie, 'All that jazz', by a producer angry at his director who is not finishing the film: "God took six days to create the Earth but six months of editing are not enough for a stupid movie."

What is that suddenly stops the creative flow? Fear of success, fear of failure, not wanting to give up your pain.? There are so many explanations we should perhaps ask Freud or Jung rather than the gods playing cricket in the Olympus…

My side of the story is that, most unfortunately, I could not go back to Los Angeles when needed and work with Annette editing Bollezzumme because of a series of problems of various nature. Therefore she decided to work on a much more important and personal project: having a baby. So, given the circumstances, the best choice was to go back with the first and historical Bollezzumme editor, Adel Oberto, who did an excellent job in the first 'montage'.

And here I am, on my way to London – the final stretch – where Adel is waiting for me and anxious to finish the movie, like me and everybody else. We have now only to make the movie faster, to trim it a little bit, to add few new things, inventing some connections between the characters and the scenes, the dreams, the wondering around the 'caruggi'. And at the end of the month we can finally start the promotion.... It’s all very exciting. I am ready to show my soul and my heart to the world.

Se leggi regolarmente questo blog, già sai che la prima versione del film è in Inglese e che il mercato per cui l'ho fatto e pensato è quello in lingua Inglese. Detto in italiano, voglio mostrare la mia visione poetica, sognatrice ed originale di Genova al mondo intero, non solo ai genovesi ed agli italiani. La città fa parte della storia per la sua passata ricchezza, importanza e potere, ma anche per la sua umanità e originalità nel rapporto, connubio, distanza tra il porto ed i famosi 'caruggi'. Riguardatevi il post del 'processo creativo' nel blog qualche pagina più indietro e scoprirete che ci vuole tempo per digerire quello che uno ha fatto, decidere finalmente di farlo vedere, tirarlo fuori, esporlo al giudizio. Se non è chiedere troppo, il film sarà pronto per la fine di Agosto.
