Time flies!!!
It has been a long time since I last updated the info about 'bollezzumme'.
Here is the
story.
I went to
New York City for just a few days, then I spent almost a month in Long Island
with my dear 'sister' producer, director, pioneer of the adult culture Candida
Royalle, then in Las Vegas for a convention and finally I arrived in Los
Angeles or LaLaLand. The mission was to find an editor who would love the 91'
cut of 'bollezzumme', edited by Adel Oberto and would like to improve it,
'americanize' it, and complete the post production.
The gods
helped! Mission has been accomplished and I found Annette Kash, a young editor
who lives in the Valley. What I like about her is that she sounded very
interested in working at the project after she looked at my two cult-films, two
movies not too easy to digest. Since I wrote the first draft of the project I
knew I wanted to do a film in English for the American and International
market. To achieve that it has been always clear to me to have some American
eyes, editor's eyes, on the materials.
Genova is
not a famous city, around the world is known only for having given birth to
Christopher Columbus and have invented the 'pesto'. A wonderful tasty green
sauce based on the great basil that grows in Liguria. Very few people know that
in 1500 it was the most powerful port and Republic of the Mediterranean Sea, a
sort of New York of that period. Visited by very talented painters from Northern
Europe like Van Dyck and Rubens who fell in love with the beautiful ladies from
Genova: Duchesses, princesses, baronesses, upper class courtesans or streets
sex workers who were portrayed and immortalized in beautiful paintings now in
the Museums of the world.
I felt that
the materials, most of it in Italian, had to be worked by somebody who spoke
Italian and English. I found Adel who is from Genova but lives and works in London
for the past three years where he graduated at a prestigious film and television
school. He accomplished a great job very appreciated not only by me but by all
his colleagues who watched the film.
The last
cut, the last vision of the film had to be realized through the eyes of an American. This
is the reason I went to Los Angeles. I must say that all of the editors I met
and shown the film were very interested. The shots, the visuals, the music, the
story line. I thank all of them for having put time and energy to meet me, especially
Gary Youngman, director, editor, filmmaker from New York but based in Los
Angeles. I liked the passion that Annette put in the project and I love working
with women. 'Pornology New York' was edited by Jackie Schulman at that time a
23 years old young lady, fresh from film school.
So the baby
'bollezzumme', with all its hard drives and MAC computers, is in LaLaLand
protected from 'earthwake' by the love of Annette. We have very long chats on Skype, confronting
ideas and going on with the project. Now, for the first time, I can see the end
of the process, the light at the end of the tunnel: Bollezzumme will be
finished soon and I am already thinking at screenings, festivals, connections
and distributions. But this is another story … the next chapter …!
